Become A Volunteer

We love Volunteers!! Volunteers are such a blessing and a very BIG part of Lighthouse Children’s Shelter!  There are so many different areas that you could get involved in. We have Indirect Service and Direct Service opportunities.

If you would like to be involved directly then we invite you to come and interact with the children on a weekly basis or more often if desired. There are so many areas that you could be a blessing. The following are some ideas of which you may be interested in:

• Playing with the children
• Feeding bottles to the babies
• Feeding times of the Toddlers
• Pre-school program
• Taking the babies for a walk
• Occupational Therapy Time
• Music Time

There are also Indirect Services that we need help with:

• Nursing Skills
• Reception
• Typing/Basic Office Skills
• Mending clothing
• Help with donations of clothing that need to be sorted and labeled when they come in
• Maintenance
• Transport for supplies and various errands
• Occupational Therapist
