Painting LCS Beds

Johannes, Lincoln and Jeff Hard At Work!!
Here we have the three stooges painting away on the baby beds…they have more paint on them than they have on the beds!! Seriously, these beds have been quite a project for all involved…. Not only have the beds been sanded, repaired and painted but every drawer was broken and needed the sliders replaced! We have 10 double decker beds… which means 20 drawers that needed to be repaired!! Lincoln Smith was able to find a place that could order a stronger heavy duty slider for our drawers!!! What a difference this has made!!
Lincoln and Johannes

Painting the Beds
Lincoln Smith and Johannes Kekana are busy sanding, repairing, painting and adding new hardware to the double decker baby beds. These beds were built in 2001 by missionaries Charles Hasselbring and Wayne Peercy. It is amazing that we are still able to sand, repair and paint and the beds are like new again! We are so grateful for the investment of time, energy and finances that have made these beds a blessing to so many children in the past 10 years!!
David – Ceiling Fans

The ceiling fans in the Baby room and Toddler rooms were no longer working. David is here in the Toddler room replacing one of the ceiling fans. We are so grateful for a donation that came to LCS from the Bankers Union. They provided a new Heater/Air Conditioner for the Toddler room that sleeps 12 children! We say a huge thank you to the Bankers Union here in Rustenburg that made it possible to provide cooling and heating for our Toddlers!!

Lighthouse Staff – Easter
This is Easter Sunday! We celebrated by having a Family Cookout which we call a Braii here in South Africa. Pictured here is most of our Lighthouse Staff… The families represented here are the Betzers, the Hunts and the Smiths. We are missing the Khumalo’s in this picture who were bringing over the food. Also pictured was the Aylard family, missionaries from Kenya visiting us for a week.
A Special Family Visits LCS

A Very Special Family Visits LCS
Some of us from the LCS Team welcomed a special family from Holland!! This family has adopted two children in years past from the Lighthouse and came back to South Africa for the third time to add another little blessing to their family! It was so great seeing them and to see how the children have grown since they they were babies with us!! We thank God for families like this who have given their lives to bring hope, love and a future to children in great need!
